Patient from London successfully treated in Croatia – Laser Spine Surgery

Four weeks ago, Mr. Ashley Heller from London contacted us trough our international patient center with inquiry about possible laser application for his herniated and degenerated L5-S1 disc. After our detailed reply with basic information about his condition, second neurosurgical opinion and available dates for surgery, Mr. Heller decided to go for surgery – immediately! Reasons for this was our minimally-invasive approach and our competitive prices. In United Kingdom, spinal surgeons offered micro-discectomy to Mr. Heller, but with nature of his job he had to be fit in 3-4 weeks.

On Friday, 15th of October Mr. Heller was about to land in Croatia. We have waited and picked him up and escorted to our partner, Hotel Antunovic:

As it was already pretty late, Mr. Heller was ordered to eat some light food and rest until tomorrow morning when he had pre-operative check up and laser spine surgery (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression) with dr. Robert Saftic in neurosurgical clinic Spine Surgery Croatia.

Early in the morning on Saturday, 16th of October, Mr. Roberto Posavec (patient adviser and advocate) and Mr. Ashley Heller went to neurosurgical clinic to meet dr. Robert Saftic and to have one more check-up before surgery to ensure laser spine surgery (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression) is indicated in his case. Doctor Saftic made an examination, looked at patient history form and his MRI CD and confirmed that PLDD is indicated. Here is live image from doctor’s office:

Soon after Mr. Heller’s pre-operative check up, he was ready to have surgery! After changing his clothes and skin cleaning, he was placed on operating table:

While clinic staff was preparing Mr. Heller for surgery, dr. Robert Saftic was hard working with number on PLDD device to achieve best success and decompression which of course lead to success of this surgery:

Soon after that, all was ready for correct measurement of needle entrance with fluroscopic device. Surgery was about to start any moment from now!

Shortly after surgery, patient was immediately feeling better and with much less pains in his leg:
